JEMA'A LOCAL GOVERNMENT APPROVES INDUSTRIAL AREA FOR GAS PLANT

Following the visit paid by the Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS) to Jema'a Local Government ChairmanMr. Yunana Markus Barde,  the Council has approved an industrial site for the sales of gas to ensure the safety of lives and properties.

After an assessment performed by the KADGIS and some of the community leaders, the local government allocated behind Flour Mill and Customary Court of Appeals, Mopol Barracks, and Manyikali road (Gidan-Taki) opposite Ungwan Maigizo Primary Healthcare Zikpak Chiefdom Kafanchan as an industrial gas plant site.

Kafanchan which has many gas retail outlets required an industrial site for the sales of gas to avoid gas explosions, not until it occurs.

As we could recall that so many people were killed years ago in kaduna as a result of the gas explosion. To prevent uncommon patterns of disaster, Kaduna State has taken regulatory measures to ensure that only licensed operators dispense the commodity to consumers to ensure safe handling.

Knowing fully that dealing with gas is a high-risk activity that should not be allowed to operate in residential areas. Thus, Sensitization techniques will also be deployed in appropriate channels to both the operators and consumers.

Therefore, this effort will help to bursts the economy of the area, discourage deforestation as well natural resources will not be tampered with, and will eventually create job opportunities for the residents.

The KADGIS in collaboration with the local government will soon engage the stakeholders of the area. This is to act appropriately on the procedures and to follow due process.
