One million and fifty thousand poor and vulnerable citizens, representing two hundred and ten households are to benefit palliative materials in Kaduna State to cushion the effects of the economic hardship occasioned by fuel subsidy removal.
Governor Uba Sani stated this during the inauguration of the first phases of the distribution exercise at Dankande, Igabi Local Government council.
Speaking to newsmen after inspecting the items and inauguration of the distribution exercise, Governor Uba Sani said the government has spent One Billion, nine hundred and thirty-five million Naira in buying forty-three thousand bags of fifty kilograms of rice.
While commending the palliative committee for handling the assignment with commitment and dedication Uba Sani assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure proper monitoring of the exercise so as to achieve the desired objective.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Nigerian Labour Congress, Kaduna State Chapter, Comrade Ayuba Sulaiman and his counterpart from the Trade Union Congress, Comrade Abdullahi Danfulani commended the Governor for the inclusive approach by engaging with key stakeholders in the distribution of palliatives processes.
