Effective collaboration between key stakeholders has been identified as the only way to addressing the problem of drug abuse in the society.
The Director General, Kaduna State Bureau for Substance Abuse, Prevention and Treatment, KADBUSA, Mr. Joseph Ike made this observation while speaking during the opening of a two-day capacity building training for its operations staff in Kaduna.
He said training was organized by the Kaduna State Bureau for Substance Abuse, Prevention and Treatment, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Ministry of Health and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime with the aim to strengthen the agency's capacity to deliver effective services in the state, there-by contributing to the betterment of the society.
In a remark, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Health, Hajiya Ummah Ahmed pledged the ministry's continuous support to all programmes geared towards uplifting the healthcare and wellbeing of the people of the state.
Earlier, the Project Officer, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Mr. Akanidomo Ibanga, explained that, the training was informed by the need to intensify efforts towards addressing the challenges posed by substance abuse in the communities.
